
Scott Machado Chosen for Brazil's November 2018 World Cup Qualifying Team

EL SEGUNDO - South Bay Lakers guard Scott Machado was chosen for the 13-man Brazil roster for the November second-round FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers.
Machado is currently in his second season with the South Bay Lakers and has averaged 16.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists through the team's first 10 games. The Iona product played in 46 games for the team last season, where he averaged 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists, which ranked second in the league.
In the November-December window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers, Brazil will serve as home team at the Poliesportivo Wlamir Marques. The first opponent for Brazil will be the Dominican Republic on November 30. Brazil will host Canada on December 3.
Brazil currently holds the third spot of Group F with a 6-2 record. Meanwhile, Canada has a 7-1 record and the Dominican Republic sits in the fourth position of Group F with a 5-3 record.
