WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks (9-3), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, used a franchise-setting defensive effort to knock off the Windy City Bulls (4-8), 91-73, Tuesday night at the Westchester County Center. The victory extends Westchester's win streak to four.
The 72 points scored by the Windy City Bulls tabbed a new low for a Westchester opponent. Erie's 74 points tallied on January 24, 2016 was the previous record. The Bulls' 72 points is the second lowest point total all season. Lakeland lost 96-71 at Windy City on November 2.
A mid-range jumper by Kadeem Allen at the 9:53 mark of the first quarter severed the Bulls' short-lived one-point lead and only lead of the game.
Windy City managed to get back within single-digits in the third quarter's early goings but a pair of free-throws by Isaiah Hicks kept the visitors back by convincing leads thereafter.
Westchester was paced by Billy Garrett, who earned his third consecutive start. He registered 23 points on 71.4-percent shooting. Hicks finished with 21 points going 10-for-12 at the charity stripe and raised for a game-high and season-high five rejections.
Stephen Zimmerman (11) and Trevon Bluiett (10) also scored double-figures for the Knicks. Bluiett notched a double-double grabbing 10 rebounds as well.
For the Bulls, Kaiser Gates registered 22 points on 35-percent shooting. He also corralled 11 rebounds. Ferrakohn Halls picked up 12 points off the bench and Mychal Mulder ended with 10.
Westchester has now won seven of its last eight games and closed out its five-game homestand having gone 4-1.
The Knicks head to Greensboro to face the Swarm, Saturday, December 1 at 7 PM.
