
Sound Tigers Sign Wiles and Diamond

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Mar. 22, 2013) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced they have signed forward Sean Wiles to a professional tryout contract (PTO) and forward Joey Diamond to an amateur tryout contract (ATO).
Wiles, 25, has appeared in 59 games with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers in his second professional season. The 6'3, 203-pound forward recorded a team-leading 25 goals and 12 assists, and has totaled 57 points in 110 career ECHL games. Prior to his professional debut, the Beloit, WI native played four seasons at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, totaling 48 points (22 goals, 26 assists) in 111 games.
Diamond, 23, signs with the Sound Tigers after completing his four-year career at the University of Maine. The Long Beach, NY native posted a team-leading 14 goals along with 10 assists this season, and led NCAA Division I men's hockey with 147 penalty minutes in 33 games. Over his four seasons with the Black Bears, Diamond totaled 104 points (59 goals, 45 assists) and 467 penalty minutes in 135 games.
The Sound Tigers return to action tonight in Providence against the Bruins, before returning to Webster Bank Arena for contests on Saturday against the Springfield Falcons and Sunday against the Albany Devils.
