B-Sens Defeat Devils 5-2

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators took on the Albany Devils at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena tonight. With forward Mike Hoffman and defensemen Mike Borowiecki back in the lineup, the B-Sens plowed through the Albany blue line to victory, defeating the Devils, 5-2.

The B-Sens special teams struck first as Shane Prince put one between the Albany pipes on the power play at 15:27 in the first. The goal set Prince's goal total to 16 on the season.

With the B-Sens up 1-0 after one, Cole Schneider put Binghamton up by two at 3:13 in the second. Just 48 seconds later Mike Hoffman would slip one behind Albany goaltender Keith Kinkaid, to give the B-Sens a 3-0 lead. The Devils would bounce back as Matt Anderson tallied his 12th goal of the season at the 10:48 mark. Shortly after, Albany would come within one after David Wohlberg scored his first goal of the year at 11:56. The B-Sens would ultimately gain back their two-goal lead as Corey Cowick tallied his third shorthanded goal of the season at 13:58 to give Binghamton the 4-2 advantage heading into the second intermission.

Binghamton would score the lone goal in the final frame as Schneider rallied his second goal, and third point of the night with an empty net tally at 18:51.

Nathan Lawson started in goal for Binghamton, winning his eighth of the year after stopping 28 of 30 Albany shots. Kinkaid took the loss for Albany, stopping 23 of 27 shots faced.

The B-Sens return to action tomorrow as they host the Hamilton Bulldogs. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Tickets to the game are $19 for side and $18 for end seats.
