
Sound Tigers Shine At AHL All-Star Game

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, were represented by three players and two coaches as the Canadian team beat the PlanetUSA team 9-5 at Monday's AHL All-Star Game in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Goaltender Wade Dubielewicz, the AHL's Rookie of the Month in December, played 30:57 and stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced as the starting goaltending for the Canadian team. Dubieleiwcz was joined on the Canadian squad by Sound Tigers teammate Brandon Smith on defense.
Sound Tigers leading scorer Jeff Hamilton was one of the starting forwards for the PlanetUSA team, which was led by Bridgeport Head Coach and Assistant Coach Dave Baseggio, and tied for the scoring lead in the game with three points, on one goal and two assists, and led all players with seven shots on goal.
The Sound Tigers will return to action when they host the Springfield Falcons this Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. They will also visit Springfield this Saturday at 7:35 p.m. and return home to host the Hershey Bears this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. All three of this week's games will be web cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Sunday's game is also scheduled to be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM pending the completion of University of Connecticut basketball.
Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at the Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
