Sound Tigers Release Gaffney & David

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have released Defensemen Mike Gaffney and J.F. David.

Gaffney signed a professional tryout contract with the Sound Tigers last Thursday and appeared in three games recording four penalty minutes. He will return to the Central Hockey League's Austin Ice Bats. David signed with the Sound Tigers at the beginning of the season and appeared in six games before being loaned to the East Coast Hockey League's Trenton Titans on November 7th.

The Sound Tigers will finish a six-game road trip when they visit the AHL-leading Hamilton Bulldogs this Wednesday at 7 p.m. They will return home to host the Lowell Lock Monsters this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. All games are broadcast on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and at www.soundtigers.com. Road games are also broadcast on WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350.
