
Rochester takes eight-game unbeaten streak into weekend games against Hershey and Cincinnati

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans are riding a season-high eight game unbeaten streak as they prepare for three games prior to the Christmas holiday.
This week, the Amerks will have an extra helping of Duck and a splash of chocolate as they battle the Central Division rival Cincinnati Mighty Ducks twice and make a stop at Chocolate Town when they visit the Hershey Bears.
Rochester enters the three-game stretch after posting two wins and a tie last week. The Amerks have moved into second place on the strength of the eight-game run (6-0-2). Rochester (10-10-7-2, 29 points) is just five points out of first place in the Central Division.
The Amerks battle Cincinnati on Friday, December 20th at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The game is the first of eight games against the divisional foe. Rochester has an 11-10-5 all-time record against Cincinnati. The Ducks (8-12-6-3, 25 points) are currently in third place in the Central Division, four points behind the Amerks. The Mighty Ducks return to Rochester Sunday for a 6:05 p.m. game. The contests will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and on-line at www.amerks.com. Friday's game will be televised taped delay on Time Warner Cable Channel 98 on Saturday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m.
On Saturday, Rochester makes its second stop at the 10,500-seat GIANT Center. The Amerks suffered a 4-1 loss to the Bears on October 19thâthe game was the first played at the new arena. The Bears lead the season series with a 1-0-0 record and have a 194-173-52 edge in the all-time series. The Bears (15-6-6-1, 37 points) are tied for first place in the South Division with the Norfolk Admirals. The game is a 7:00 p.m. start. The contest will be broadcast on WHAM 1180-AM and on the web at www.amerks.com.
MILLER UNBEATEN IN SEVEN: Amerk goaltender Ryan Miller has a career-best seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1)... Miller's streak began on November 29th with a 7-3 win over Milwaukee... During the unbeaten streak, he recorded his first professional shutout on December 13th against the Syracuse Crunch... He has lowered his goal-against average to 2.30âninth best in the AHL.
A TAYLOR-MADE NINE: Amerks center Chris Taylor has a season-high nine-game point streak... In the nine games he has registered 16 points (3+13)... The streak began on November 27th at Philadelphia... Taylor is third on the team in points, despite playing in only 19 of the team's 29 games.
