PHILADELPHIA, PA - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, lost 4-3 in overtime on the road to the Philadelphia Phantoms Wednesday. The loss snapped a three-game, road winning streak for the Sound Tigers, including a pair of overtime wins in the previous two games away from home.

The Sound Tigers carried the play for the first half of the opening frame en route to a 5-2 shots on goal advantage. However, Philadelphia finished the period on a 10-2 run and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission after Dennis Seidenberg trickled a point shot through traffic at the 11:56 mark for his ninth goal of the season right off a face-off win by Ben Stafford who earned the only assist on the play.

The Sound Tigers tied the score at 1-1 when Brendan Yarema jammed a Kevin Colley feed past Phantoms goaltender Antero Niittymaki for a power-play goal, his seventh tally of the year, 5:18 into the second period with Cole Jarrett earning the second assist.

Philadelphia nearly regained the lead in the final ten seconds of the middle frame when leading scorer Patrick Sharp had a shorthanded breakaway from center ice but saw his backhander forced wide left on a poke check by Sound Tigers netminder Dieter Kochan.

The Phantoms took a 2-1 lead on Jon Sim's team-leading 20th goal of the season off assists from R.J. Umberger and Wade Skolney 1:58 into the third period, but the Sound Tigers tied the game at 2-2 when Jarrett scored his second goal of the season, and second shorthanded as well, at 9:02 after Yarema stole the puck from Niittymaki while killing a major penalty to captain Richard Seeley.

Philadelphia regained the lead at 3-2 on Boyd Kane's fifth goal of the year off assists from Riley Cote and Skolney at 11:46, but the Sound Tigers pulled even at 3-3 on Chris Campoli's ninth marker of the season off assists from Kevin Colley and Jarrett with 4:18 left to play.

Seconds after Kochan made another big stop denying John Slaney and Eric Meloche, Seidenberg rushed down the slot and popped home his second goal of the game and tenth of the season off assists from Sim and Slaney 1:51 into the extra session to give the Phantoms to the 4-3 win.

Seidenberg was the first star of the game, Jarrett the second and Skolney the third. Kochan made 35 saves while Niittymaki made 13 as Philadelphia had a 39-16 shots on goal advantage, including 2-0 in overtime. The Sound Tigers were 1 for 4 on the power play and 4 for 4 on the penalty kill, including the five-minute major in the third period.

The Sound Tigers will return home to host the Phantoms at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard this Friday at 7:35 p.m. The Sound Tigers will also host the Norfolk Admirals this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Both games will be web cast live at www.soundtigers.com.
