Providence Bruins News Release
Providence Bruins left wing Andy Hilbert was today named the recipient of CCM AHL Milestone of the Month for February. On February 4, Hilbert recorded three assists in a 3-0 win over Hartford, becoming the all-time scoring leader in the 13-year history of the Providence Bruins franchise. His second assist was the 187th point of his Bruins career, surpassing the late Sergei Zholtok, who had 186 points in 196 games from 1992-95.
Hilbert, who recently played in the third AHL All-Star Classic of his four-year career, is the Bruins' career leader in goals (94), power play goals (34) and points (195). He is tied for sixth with 101 assists, three shy of matching the franchise record held by former Bruins Andre Savage and Brandon Smith. His total of 215 games played ranks eighth on the franchise list.
Hilbert, a 24-year-old native of Howell, Michigan, leads the Bruins and is tied for fourth in AHL scoring with 30-34-64 totals in 60 games. His goal total is tied for second in the league, while his 13 power play goals rank fifth. Hilbert also leads the AHL with 272 shots on goal.
One of only three Bruins to play in all 60 of the team's games this season, Hilbert was originally selected by the Boston Bruins with their third pick (second round), 37th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He has 3-3-6 totals and 18 PIM in 38 career NHL games with Boston.
In recognition of his achievement, Hilbert will receive an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Bruins home game.
The Bruins hit the road for their next three games, beginning on Friday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m., when they take on the Lowell Lock Monsters.
The Bruins return home to host the Portland Pirates on Friday, March 11 at 7:05 p.m., and the Albany River Rats on Sunday, March 13 at 4:05 p.m.
