
Senators' Bochenski named Reebok AHL Rookie of the Month

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Binghamton Senators left wing Brandon Bochenski has been named the Reebok AHL Rookie of the Month for February. In nine games, Bochenski recorded six goals and five assists for 11 points and represented the Senators at the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic.
Bochenski led Binghamton in team scoring during February, including four multiple-point games. He had a goal and an assist each on Feb. 5 at Hershey and Feb. 12 at Albany, then scored a goal in PlanetUSA's 5-4 shootout victory in the 2005 AHL All-Star Game on Feb. 14. Bochenski recorded the first four-point game of his young career on Feb. 19, scoring two goals and assisting on two others in Binghamton's 7-2 win at Manchester.
In recognition of his achievement, Bochenski will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Senators home game.
A 2001 draft pick by the Ottawa Senators, Bochenski currently leads all AHL rookies with 25 goals and 49 points for Binghamton this season. The 22-year-old native of Blaine, Minn., played three years at the University of North Dakota (2001-04), where he was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in 2004 after finishing second in the nation in scoring.

Umberger, Portland right wing Jakub Klepis, Rochester left wing Thomas Vanek, San Antonio center Greg Jacina, Springfield left wing Adam Henrich, St. John's center Jeremy Williams, Syracuse defenseman Prestin Ryan and Utah left wing Dana Lattery.
