Sound Tigers Announce Player Transactions

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (February 14, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced the following player transactions on Tuesday. Defenseman Barry Goers has been released from his PTO, defenseman Benn Olson has been recalled on loan from Alaska (ECHL), and defenseman Wes Cunningham has signed a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Goers, 25, appeared in two games this past weekend with the Sound Tigers and did not record a point. He returns to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL where he shows three goals and 20 assists in 43 games this season.

Olson, 24, rejoins the Sound Tigers after being loaned to the Alaska Aces of the ECHL early in January. The Port McNeil, BC native posted 46 penalty minutes in 11 games with Alaska and has recorded one goal and 74 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

Cunningham, 24, signs his second PTO with the Sound Tigers this season. The Dresden, ON native appeared in two games in December and did not record a point during his previous AHL stint. Cunningham has recorded two goals and 20 assists in 38 games with the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.
