MILWAUKEE --- Chris Mueller scored the only goal the Milwaukee Admirals needed and Jeremy Smith made 23 saves in a 3-0 win over the Houston Aeros on Tuesday at the Bradley Center.

Teemu Laakso notched two assists, and Joel Champagne and Jonathon Blum added goals for Milwaukee.

Matt Hackett stopped 20 shots in goal for Houston. The Aeros are 2-2-0-0 on their current 11-game road trip and are tied with Charlotte and Toronto with 62 points in the AHL's Western Conference race. Houston is seven points behind West Division and Western Conference leader Oklahoma City.

Mueller put Milwaukee up 1-0 at the 12:11 mark of the first period with his 23rd goal of the season. Champagne made it a 2-0 game at 16:10 of the third. Blum sealed the win with an empty-net, shorthanded goal at 17:52, after the Aeros pulled Hackett with a power play to create a two-man advantage in an attempt to cut the lead in half.

The Aeros continue their road trip with games at Abbotsford this Friday and Saturday, both at 9 p.m. CST. The team returns home March 10 against Grand Rapids at 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center.
