LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11: PENGUINS 4, Pirates 3 (OT)...

The Penguins rallied from a 3-1 third-period deficit to record a 4-3 overtime victory over Portland at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.

Down by two with less than ten minutes to go in regulation, rookies Brian Gibbons and Paul Thompson both notched their eighth goals of the season. Thompson then had the assist on Alexandre Picard's game-winner 36 seconds into overtime as part of his three-point night (1g-2a).

Brad Thiessen's 20-save game helped him record his 20th win of the season.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12: Penguins 1, BEARS 5...

Ryan Potulny and Jacob Micflikier each tallied two goals as the Hershey Bears raced to a 5-1 win over Wilkes- Barre/Scranton at the Giant Center.

Micflikier scored consecutive power play markers in the first and second periods to help the Bears establish a 3-0 cushion. Chris Bourque tallied three assists for Hershey in the contest.

Jason Williams broke up Braden Holtby's shutout bid with 8:11 left in regulation.

ICE CHIPS...

Saturday's victory over Portland was the second for the Penguins in three games in which they rallied when trailing after the second period. They were previously 0-11-1-1 when behind heading into third...Brad Thiessen is fourth in the AHL with 20 wins...Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is tied for the league lead for the most points accrued on the road (39)...Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's offense has risen to fourth best in the AHL, averaging 3.24 goals per game...The Penguins have yet to lose in regulation on the road in a game that has been decided by one goal (10-0- 3-3)...Jason Williams has registered points in six straight road games, compiling three goals and five assists.

UPCOMING GAMES

WENDESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 7:05 PM: PENGUINS vs. Admirals...

Facing off for the first time since January 10, the Penguins and Admirals take the ice for their seventh meeting of the 10-game season series. The third-place Admirals (30-18-1-2) have won three in a row and four of their last five to pull within two points of the top spot in the East Division.

Cory Conacher leads all rookies with 57 points (28g-29a) and the entire AHL with 28 goals. Mark Barberio is the top scoring defenseman in the league with 41 points (6g-35a).

The Penguins snapped a four-game losing streak against the Admirals with a 4-2 win on Jan. 10 in Norfolk. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is 0-3-0-0 at home against the Admirals and 2-4-0-0 overall this season. The Penguins are 63-38-1-7-1 all-time against the Admirals.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 7:05 PM: Penguins at SENATORS...

With Friday's contest, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton concludes its road portion of the season series against Binghamton The fifth-place Senators are winless in their last four games (0-3-1-0) and have fallen to 20-27-2-1 on the season.

Binghamton's power play is second in the league on home ice (24.6%) and ranks fifth overall with a conversion rate of 20.9%. They are tied for the most shorthanded goals allowed this season with nine. Andre Petersson is on a seven-game home scoring streak during which he has potted nine goals.

The Penguins fell in regulation to the Senators for the first time this season in a 7-4 loss on Jan. 28. Wilkes- Barre/Scranton is 5-1-1-0 this season against Binghamton and 42-28-4-3-2 (W-L-T-OTL-SOL) in the all-time series.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 7:00 PM: Penguins at DEVILS...

The Albany Devils just wrapped up a five-game road stretch with three straight wins that raised their record to 22- 18-5-3 and a third-place standing in the Northeast Division. This game will be the Penguins' first visit of the season to the Times Union Center.

The Devils have an 11-6-3-3 record at home despite being outscored 63-65. They are 6-1-3-3 at home in games decided by one goal. Goaltender Keith Kincaid has won four of his last five starts, allowing only eight goals on 142 shots.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Albany have split their previous two meetings in 2011-12 and will end the season series on Mar. 31 on the Devils' home ice. The Penguins are 14-0-0-1 all-time against the Devils franchise.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 1:00 PM: Penguins at PIRATES...

This contest marks the final game of the regular season series between the Penguins and Pirates. Portland has dropped six of its last eight (2-5-1-0) to fall to 23-21-23 on the season. The Pirates remain tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Division.

Defenseman Nathan Oystrick is tied for eighth in defenseman scoring with 28 points (9g-19a) and also tied for third among blueliners with nine goals. Portland ranks 27th out of 30 AHL teams with a 3.24 goals against average.

The Penguins have gone 2-0-0-1 this season against the Pirates. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has an 10-11-1-0-1 record all-time against Portland.
