'Canes Recall Drayson Bowman from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Drayson Bowman from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. The team also reassigned forward Jerome Samson to Charlotte.

Bowman, 22, has skated in 17 NHL games for Carolina this season, registering two goals and four assists (6 points). Born in Grand Rapids, MI, but raised in Littleton, CO, Bowman has totaled 11 goals and 11 assists (22 points) in 35 AHL games with Charlotte in 2011-12, and is third among Checkers forwards in plus/minus (+2). Carolina's third-round draft pick (72nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bowman (6'1", 190 lbs.) has tallied four goals, five assists (9 points) and 16 penalty minutes in 49 career NHL games with the Hurricanes.
