Bowie, Maryland - The Somerset Patriots (60-42) earned their largest come-from-behind win of the year in a 13-10 thriller over the Bowie Baysox (59-42) Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium.

The Patriots trailed by five runs through the end of the third inning before outscoring the Baysox 9-1 over the final six frames to earn the big series-opening win.

Somerset jumped in front with an early 4-0 lead on a Michael Beltre RBI single in the first and an Oswald Peraza (9) three-run home run in the second inning.

Bowie plated seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the second to take a 7-4 lead. They added two more runs in the third to take the early five-run lead.

Patriots starting pitcher Ken Waldichuk allowed seven runs (five earned) over 1.1 innings of work. Sean Boyle came in relief of Waldichuk and ate 4.2 innings, yielding three runs (two earned) to keep Somerset close.

The Patriots comeback began with an Oswaldo Cabrera two-run double in the fourth. After Bowie got a run back in the fifth, Josh Breaux added an RBI single in the sixth to make it a 10-7 deficit.

Somerset then took the lead with a six-run eighth inning, highlighted by a Cabrera RBI single, Breaux two-run double and a Dermis Garcia (26) game-winning three-run home run.

Jefrey Valdez (W, 4-1) tossed two scoreless innings of relief for the win. Logan Gillaspie (L, 0-1) allowed four runs in relief and took the loss. Nick Ernst (S, 1) worked a scoreless ninth inning for the save.
