Some Lucky Fan Could Find "Pot O' Gold" on "St. Hat Trick's Day"
March 3, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL today kicked off the team's "St. Hat Trick's Day" promotion presented by the Reading Eagle, under which one lucky fan could win $10,000 at the Royals' game against the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday, March 15 (7:05 pm). Fans can enter the "St. Hat Trick's Day" promotion by filling out and submitting the entry form available in the sports section of the Reading Eagle. Fans can also obtain an entry form through the Royals website at: www.royalshockey.com/promotions/Sthattrick.asp. To be eligible, entry forms must be post-marked by Wednesday, March 5.
Sixteen fans will be chosen at random from the entry forms received. Those sixteen fans will each receive two complimentary tickets to the Royals' game against the Nailers on Saturday, March 15. Upon arrival at the game, each 'winner' will be randomly assigned to one Royals' skater who will be playing 'for them' in that night's game. Each 'winning' fan will also receive a replica Royals' jersey signed by their designated player. If a fan's assigned player scores three or more goals-i.e., registers a hat trick-in the game against the Nailers on Saturday, March 15, that fan will receive the $10,000 grand prize. There can only be one winner of the $10,000 grand prize; so if two or more Royals score hat tricks in that game, the fan who was assigned to the player who first reaches three goals against the Nailers on March 15 will be the sole winner of the $10,000 grand prize.
Also that night, the first 2000 fans in attendance will receive a St. Patrick's Day Lucky Green hat. During the game itself, the Royals will be wearing special St. Hat Trick's Day/Berks JazzFest jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game with net proceeds going to benefit the Berks Arts Council.
Reading next heads out on the road for three straight, starting on Friday night (March 7; 7:30 pm) in Cincinnati, Ohio at U.S. Bank Arena against the first place Cincinnati Cyclones. The game night broadcast that night will begin at 7:00 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
