Elmira's Johnson Suspended Five Games, Fined

March 3, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release


PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it has suspended Elmira right wing Chaz Johnson for five games and fined him an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #693 against Dayton on Mar. 1.

Johnson was assessed a game misconduct penalty under Rule 70.6 at 3:31 of the first period.

He is suspended and fined under Rule 29 Supplemental Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Johnson missed Elmira's game against Johnstown (Mar. 2) and will miss games at Trenton (Mar. 7), at Johnstown (Mar. 8), at Reading (Mar. 12) and against Reading (Mar. 14).
