Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Lee Solomon went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in his return to the lineup, but Quad Cities (Houston Astros) pounded out 15 hits in a 10-3 win over Fort Wayne on Saturday night at Parkview Field.

The River Bandits (17-10) opened the scoring in the top of the first inning. Jeremy Pena and Enmanuel Valdez both reached to lead off the game by way of a fielding error and a single, respectively. Pena and Valdez then each moved up a base via a wild pitch, and Pena scored later in the inning on a Jonathan LaCroix sacrifice fly.

Quad Cities added to their lead in the top of the second on a Cesar Salazar solo home run and a two-run Ross Adolph homer. It was Salazar's second home run of the season and Adolph's first big fly in 24 games this season.

The TinCaps (12-16) slashed the deficit in half with two runs in the bottom of the second. First, Grant Little doubled down the right-field line, followed by a Juan Fernandez single that put two on base with one out. Then, Solomon doubled into the left-center field gap, scoring both Little and Fernandez. The infielder made his return to the lineup Saturday after being on the Injured List since April 26.

The River Bandits tacked on a single run in the third, but the TinCaps answered back with a run in the bottom of the fourth when Solomon drove home Grant Little on an RBI single. Solomon drove in all three TinCaps runs - he entered the evening with 3 RBIs on the season.

Quad Cities did the rest of the scoring, scoring two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two in the seventh. Four River Bandits (Scott Schreiber, Lacroix, Salazar, and Austin Dennis) finished the game with two or more hits. Quad Cities had five extra-base hits in the game.
