Solar Bears Have Top Selling Jerseys in the ECHL
December 5, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have been informed by the ECHL that Orlando has the league's top-selling jersey and a new shipment of jerseys has arrived in time for the Solar Bears games on Friday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 9, at 3:00 p.m.
Fans can find adult and youth jerseys (in both white and purple), along with a brand new selection of other Solar Bears merchandise, during games at the Amway Center. Jerseys can also be purchased online by going to http://shop.orlandosolarbearshockey.com. Jersey customization can be ordered both online and at the Amway Center.
Fans of the Orlando Solar Bears have already shown their support for the team in a number of ways this season. Orlando is currently the third-highest attended team in the ECHL, averaging 6,104 fans per game.
"Here at the League Office, we have been very impressed with the support the great hockey fans in Orlando and the surrounding communities have shown for the Solar Bears," said Todd Merton, Director of Marketing and Licensing for the ECHL. "Team jersey sales are a great indicator of how well a team has been welcomed into a market. With the Solar Bears being at the top of the league in jerseys sold, it is clear that the team has been welcomed back in a big way."
AUTHENTIC GAME WORN JERSEY AUCTION - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8
The Orlando Solar Bears and the Meigray Group will be holding a live auction for the game-worn military-themed Camouflage Jerseys (worn on November 10 and 11) during their game on Saturday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. Fans can bid on jerseys on the concourse level of the Amway Center from the time the doors open (6:00 p.m.) until no earlier than 10 minutes following the conclusion of Saturday's game. Credit cards will be accepted, and all bidders will be required to fill out a one-sheet bidding form that will be provided on site.
The Solar Bears named the Meigray Group, ECHL game-worn jersey authenticator, as the Exclusive Game-Worn Source of the Orlando Solar Bears earlier this year. The multi-year deal began with the uniquely dated and specially patched "Out of Hibernation" set worn by the Solar Bears in the home opener on October 20. Every game-worn jersey worn by the Solar Bears this season will be authenticated by MeiGray before they are offered to fans and collectors.
The 2012-13 Solar Bears-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Program will include two sets of home jerseys, two sets of road jerseys, one set of third jerseys, one "Shirts Off Our Backs Night" jersey, and at least four additional "Special Event" sets for a variety of promotional and charitable causes.
The Solar Bears return home to the Amway Center for a three game series against the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 9th at 3:00 p.m. Good seats are still available. Visit OrlandoSolarBearsHockey.com.
The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and AHL's Houston Aeros, are in their Out of Hibernation season and play all of their home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center.
Individual tickets for all regular season home games are now on sale beginning as low as $15. To purchase your tickets, please visit www.OrlandoSolarBearsHockey.com or the Amway Center Box Office.
