
Courtnall Returns, Randell Heads to Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Justin Courtnall has been reassigned to the team from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) and forward Tyler Randell has been recalled to Providence.
Courtnall, 23, skated in one game with the Bruins recording no points. In five contests with the Stingrays this season, the Victoria, British Columbia, native registered 20 penalty minutes. Last season, Courtnall wrapped up a three-year career at Boston University adding seven goals and six assists for 13 points over 92 games. In 2007, he was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round (210th overall) of the NHL Entry Draft.
Randell, 21, appeared in 19 games with the Stingrays this season netting two goals and an assist for three points and 36 penalty minutes. The Scarborough, Ontario, native dressed in 30 games with the Bruins (AHL) last season scoring two goals. Randell is a sixth round selection (176th overall) by the Bruins (NHL) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
