Solar Bears Announce Season Opening Roster

Orlando Solar Bears News Release


Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced today their season opening roster for the 2014-15 season and that they have traded F David Gilbert, D Justin Sefton, and D Ben Shutron to the Wheeling Nailers for future considerations. In order to be compliant with the 23 player maximum roster size, the Solar Bears released F Alexandre Carrier, G Ilya Chernov, F Stephen Schultz, and F Geordie Wudrick.

The Solar Bears season opening roster includes 14 forwards, nine defensemen, and two goalies, with one forward (Scott Tanski) and one defenseman (Mike Bergin) beginning the season on Injured Reserve.

The Solar Bears open their season against the Greenville Road Warriors on Saturday, October 18, at the Amway Center at 7:00 p.m. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Solar Bears hat, courtesy of Cricket Wireless.
