
Soggy Night in Altoona Goes to the Curve

The SeaWolves dropped the second game of a six-game series to the Altoona Curve by a 3-2 score on Wednesday night at People's Natural Gas Field.
The scoreless game was interrupted early by a 1:09 rain delay in the middle of the third inning. Both starting pitchers did not return after the rain delay. Ricardo Pinto worked two scoreless with three strikeouts and Altoona's Travis MacGregor threw three scoreless with four strikeouts and two walks.
Altoona took the lead in the third against reliever Joe Navilhon. Daniel Amaral and Arden Pabst started the frame with back-to-back knows and Ji-Hwan Bae singled home Amaral for a 1-0 lead. Navilhon would finish the night with his longest outing of the season of three innings, he allowed one run on one hit with no walks and two strikeouts.
The SeaWolves took the lead in the fifth against reliver Brad Case. John Valente led off with a single and Kona Quiggle was hit by a pitch with one out. Dane Myers grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Valente, tying the game. Myers scored on a Jon Rosoff RBI double to make it a 2-1 game in favor of Erie.
Altoona regained the lead in the sixth against reliever Henry Martinez. Oneil Cruz led off with a single, stole second and moved to third on a groundout. He scored on a Mason Martin double, tying the game. Martin came home on a Brendt Citta base hit for a 3-2 lead.
Curve reliever Brad Case earned the win allowing two runs on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts in three innings.
Martinez (2-1) took the loss allowing two runs on four hits in one inning of relief. He did not issue a walk while striking out a pair.
Yerry De Los Santos worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
