Binghamton, NY-Mark Sobolewski went 3-for-3 with a walk, Moises Sierra homered and Callix Crabbe singled in a run to tie the game in the ninth, but Binghamton scored in the bottom of the ninth for a 4-3 win over the Fisher Cats Sunday.
Casey Janssen of the Toronto Blue Jays, on an MLB rehab assignment, worked his fifth consecutive scoreless frame, working around a double by Joshua Satin in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Mets (38-57) scored first in the bottom of the second inning. Salomon Manriquez (3-for-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI) drilled a 2-1 pitch just inside the left field foul pole for a solo home run to put the Mets up 1-0.
Binghamton extended the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jordany Valdespin and Josh Satin started the inning with singles and Allen Dykstra walked. Manriquez then plated two with his third hit of the game to make it 3-0.
Sierra hit his 14th home run of the season leading off the seventh inning off Mets starter Tobi Stoner, who worked 6.1 innings, allowing five hits and one run. He struck out six.
After failing to score against reliever Ricky Brooks, New Hampshire rallied to the tie facing Binghamton's closer Rhiner Cruz. Sierra, Yan Gomes and Sobolewski put together consecutive one-out singles. Sierra scored on Sobolewski's hit to make it 3-2. After John Tolisano popped out, Callix Crabbe singled to tie the game.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Evan Crawford (1-3) got the first two outs before Niuman Romero singled and Eric Campbell doubled in the winning run.
Zach Stewart, New Hampshire's starter, worked seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits. He walked two and struck out seven.
Cruz (2-1) earned the win despite allowing two runs on four hits in one inning as the Mets earned a series win, taking three of five from the Fisher Cats.
