Today, the SeaWolves look to snap a two-game slide as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the final game of a four game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves could not hold a two-run ninth inning lead as they fell to the Curve 11-8. Altoona struck for five runs in the ninth to secure the win over the ‘Wolves. Erie has lost back-to-back home games for the first time since May 1. The SeaWolves have not lost three straight games in one homestand this season. (The ‘Wolves have dropped three straight at home over two homestands). Erie is a season-low five games below .500...Righty Brooks Brown takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his eighth start and first against the Curve. Brown took a loss in his last start at Akron and has dropped two straight. In the game, he allowed five runs, four earned, on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts in five innings of work. Brown is 0-3 with a no-decision in his last four starts and has not won since June 21...RHP Phillip Irwin takes the mound for the Curve making his sixth appearance and fifth start. Irwin took a no-decision against Bowie in his last start allowing three runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts in six innings of work. He began the season with Class-A Bradenton where he made 10 starts and went 5-0 with a 2.03 ERA...The SeaWolves hit the road for a brief, three-game trip to Trenton before returning home on Thursday, beginning a seven-game homestand with Akron and Richmond.

- Erie trails the season series against Altoona 11-6. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 18 times in 2011.

- The SeaWolves have not won a series against the Curve this season.

- SeaWolves have committed 82 errors which is fifth-most in the EL.

- The SeaWolves are 33-38 in night games and 11-11 in day games.

- Erie's pitching staff is ninth in the league with a 4.47 team ERA. The SeaWolves have given up 453 runs which is fourth-most allowed in the league. Erie has issued 332 walks which is second-most in the EL.

- The SeaWolves are fourth EL with 434 runs scored.

- Erie's offense is third in the league with a .268 team batting average.

- The ‘Wolves are hitting .257 with RISP, .223 with two outs and RISP and .272 with runners on base.

- As a team, the SeaWolves are 22-for-78 with the bases loaded.

- The ‘Wolves are 26-19 at Jerry Uht Park.

- Erie is 22-34 against the Western Division.

- Jamie Johnson leads the team and is tied for the league lead with 61 walks and runs scored with 59.
