BELOIT, WI - Christopher Bostick drove a walk-off, RBI single into center to give the Beloit Snappers an 8-7 victory over the Clinton LumberKings in Midwest League action with 1,693 in attendance on Sunday afternoon. The Snappers also clinched their first Western Division title since 2007 as a result of Peoria defeating Cedar Rapids earlier in the day.

The Snappers finish the first half at 43-27, their best first half record since 2007. Clinton finished up the first half at 33-36.

Beloit's incredible comeback started with a Renato Nunez one-out single. After the second out, John Wooten lined a ball just over the shortstop's head for a knock. Ryan Mathews waited out a walk and Ryan Delgado was the next man up. Delgado hit a grounder to third that he legged out for an infield hit to tie the game. That's when Bostick (3-4, 3 RBI, run) entered the fray and won the game with his base hit.

The scoring began in the second when both teams traded two-run innings. Clinton's runs came on a groundout and an RBI single by Brock Hebert. Bostick plated the Snappers' first runs with a single and a wild pitch scored Mathews to even things.

Beloit seized the lead in the fifth when Renato Nunez doubled off the right field wall, knocking in a pair. The LumberKings did them one better in the top of the sixth, as Tyler Marlette homered over the wall in right for three runs.

After a Brett Vertigan RBI single tied the game for Beloit in their half of the sixth, the see-saw swung back to Clinton. Ketel Marte (3-4, RBI, 2 runs) delivered a two-out, go-ahead RBI single in the seventh and an insurance run was added when Marte stole third and scored on an error.

In the eighth, a bases loaded walk to Bostick forced in a run that made the score 7-6. In the next inning, Bostick would come up again with the bases loaded and produced the play of the game.

Following the Midwest League All-Star Break, the Peoria Chiefs come to town to open the second half with a four game slate. Starting pitchers for game one are TBD. Fans will be treated to a night of Snappy Hour, meaning 8oz drafts of Miller Lite priced at $1 at the Firehouse Grill, small sodas for $1 at the Main Stand and 12oz rail mixed drinks for $3 at the Sud's O'Hanahan's Bullpen Deck and the Miller On Deck.
