Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The Snappers won another close game on Sunday over the Burlington Bees, 7-5, to sweep the four game series. Reliever, Rob Delaney, picked up his Midwest League leading 20th save to help lock down the victory for Beloit.

After Burlington scored first in the top of the third inning, Beloit battled back to tie it up, 1-1, in the bottom half. Brian Dinkelman had a two-out double to left and was driven home by Wilson Ramos one batter later. Ramos' RBI was his eighth of the season.

RBI's from Danny Santiesteban, Greg Yersich, and Brian Dinkelman in the bottom of the fourth inning gave Beloit a 4-1 lead heading in to the second half of the game.

Burlington regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning off the bat of Michael Thompson. Thompson hit a grand slam off of Beloit starter, Cole Devries, to make it a 5-4 Bees' lead.

After a scoreless sixth inning from both sides, the Snappers took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. A two-run double to left field off the bat of Chris Parmelee gave Beloit the lead and helped bury the Bees for good. Joe Benson followed Parmelee with an RBI single to give the Snappers a 7-5 lead.

Matthew Fox pitched an inning and two thirds of three hit, scoreless relief to pick up his third win of the season. Rob Delaney pitched an inning and a third to pick up his 20th save. The Snappers are now 39-22 on the year.

Upcoming schedule: The Snappers continue their current homestand this Monday with the doubleheader against the Cedar Rapids Kernels starting at 5:00. Beloit's Alex Burnett goes against Cedar Rapids' Trevor Bell in game one and Beloit's Adam Hawes goes against Cedar Rapids' Doug Brandt in game two.
