Beloit Sky Carp News Release
An early 5-0 deficit proved to be too much for the Snappers to overcome. South Bend had eleven hits on their way to a 6-3 win over Beloit.
Entering the eighth inning South Bend had jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Beloit's, Joe Benson, was driven home in the top of the eighth inning off the bat of Steve Singleton. Singleton's hit was his second double and second RBI of the season. South Bend answered right back in the bottom half of the eighth with a run of their own and increased their lead back to five.
The Snappers were able to muster two more runs in the top of the ninth inning but ended the game with the tying run at the plate. Danny Berg stuck out with runners on second and third to end the game and send the Snappers to a 17-12 record.
Starter, Adam Hawes, picked up his third loss of the season going five innings while allowing five runs off nine hits.
