Great Lakes Loons News Release

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers scored two runs in the final two innings for a 6-4 win over the Great Lakes Loons Thursday night at Dow Diamond. But the big winner of the evening was the outpatient infusion center for cancer patients at the MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. On Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Dow Diamond, fans bid on game-worn pink jerseys in the Jersey-Off-The-Back auction during and after the game to raise $11,080 for the still under-construction medical facility.

A live auction was held after the game for the jerseys of manager Lance Parrish, pitching prospect Clayton Kershaw, and a special jersey for NASCAR driver Dale Jarrett. Jarrett's No. 44 jersey raised $525. Kershaw's pink uniform top (No. 26) collected $1,100. The largest amount of money bid on a single jersey was for the No. 13 worn by Parrish, which raised $1,550.

All other members of the Loons had their jerseys bid upon in a silent auction held through the first six innings, and the rest of the Loons combined to raise $7,905.

The Loons look to even up the four game series with Wisconsin Friday night at Dow Diamond. It's the final game of an eight-game homestand. After the game, the Loons will present a fireworks show powered by Dow Corning. Tickets are still available by calling 989-837-BALL, by visiting the Loons' ticket office at Dow Diamond, or by logging on to Loons.com.
