Snappers Split Double Dip

The Snappers managed to split the Sunday afternoon doubleheader as they dropped the first decision 8-5 and in game two they were able to take a close 2-1 ball game.

In game one the Bees managed to break out 14 hits against the Snappers pitchers with big innings coming in the third and fifth frames.

With the Bees leading the Snappers by five heading into the bottom of the third the Snappers pulled within one run by scoring four runs in the frame. In the inning the Snappers scored two runs when the bases were load and walks to Angel Morales and Danny Rams forced in a run a piece. A fielding error by Bees shortstop Ryan Wood scored both Ozzie Lewis and Angel Morales to shorten the Bees lead.

The Bees eventually took the game 8-5 as Aaron Hicks went perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored.

In game two starting pitcher Daniel Berlind went five solid innings giving up one run and as he picked up his fourth win of the season.

Both clubs exchanged runs in the second inning as Jon Waltenbury scored on fielding error by Bee's third baseman Jason Morales, Waltenbury had doubled to lead off the inning.

The very next inning the Snappers took the one run lead as Dominic De La Osa scored on a wild pitch from third base giving the Snappers the 2-1 lead.

Steve Blevins came on in the seventh to close the door as he picked up his third save of the year.

The Snappers look for the series win Monday night as Bruce Pugh will take the mound for the Snappers with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm. The first 500 fans through the gate will receive a Mystery Autographed Baseball sponsored by the Italian House.
