Snappers pound Dragons
August 2, 2006 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Notes: For the second day in a row, the Dayton Dragons jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Dayton's Michael Griffin hit a two run home run in the first inning, he would add another in the second. The Dragon's offense continued to fire on all cylinders for the next six innings, scoring six more runs stretching the lead to 8-0.
The Snappers struggled to get anything going offensively as the Dayton pitching staff held them to only four hits. The Snappers plated one run in the seventh when Dwayne White scored on a fielding error by the Dragon's third baseman Eric Eymann. The Snappers scored once again in the eighth inning on an RBI single off the bat of Erik Lis driving in William Luque.
Eddie Morlan got the loss for the Snappers going three and two thirds innings, giving up five runs on seven hits. Dayton's Rafael Gonzalez earned the victory pitching five innings of shut out ball only allowing one hit.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers will take on the Dayton Dragons August 3rd and 4th at Pohlman Field. The two games are scheduled for 7:00 PM.
