
Devil Rays defeat Best in the West Again

Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
For the second day in a row the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays defeated the Kane County Cougars. They beat the best team in the Western Division by a score of 5-3 in a lunchtime showdown at C.O. Brown.
Greg Reinhard took the start for the D-Rays and was phenomenal in his five innings of work. He allowed only two hits and one earned run with eight strikeouts. Reinhard picked up his fifth win of the year with his outing Wednesday afternoon.
Jeff Kamrath looked stellar in his relieve work. Kamrath went three frames and fanned four while allowing one earned run off of four hits.
Kevin Lynn entered in the ninth inning and was greeted with a solo homerun from centerfielder Jose Pineda. He then gave up a single to centerfield to Frank Hernandez but settled down and retired the next three batters he faced. Lynn was credited with the save which brings his season total to three.
Cesar Suarez had a productive afternoon by going 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Hunter Vick went 3-3 with two runs scored. The D-Rays got three doubles in the ballgame from J.T. Hall, Hunter Vick, and Matt Devins.
The Devil Rays and Cougars will square off for their third game in the four game series on Thursday night at 7:05. It's Thirsty Thursday! As always fans can get their favorite Pepsi fountain pop or draft beer for only $1. Stick around after the game because "The Weatherly Band" will return to C.O. Brown for their second appearance to perform live after the game in the TDS Metrocom Left Field Bar. The Devil Rays will also have a special guest on hand. The 2005 VH1 Songwriter of the Year, Katherine Schell, will be in attendance to perform songs from her album pre-game and she will also sing "The Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America". The Chevy Street team will also be in attendance and you can enter to win a brand new Chevy Cobalt.
