Snappers Lose Pitchers Duel To Loons

The Beloit Snappers lost 2-1 Friday night at Great Lakes as the Loons came back to score two runs in the bottom of the eighth after the Snappers scored one in the top of the inning.

Mike Tarsi pitched a complete game for the Snappers giving up two runs in eight innings of work, striking out six and only walking one.

The two teams were locked in a scoreless ball game until the eighth inning when a Chris Parmelee sacrifice fly put the first run on the scoreboard as Joe Benson came in to score after leading off the inning with a single.

The Loons came back with two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on three doubles to take the lead. Loons reliever Miguel Ramirez came in to get the final two outs of the eighth and work the ninth inning against the Snappers as he picked up his first win on the season.

The loss dropped the Snappers to 11-17 on the season, while Great Lakes upped their record to 12-15.
