Five runs in the top of the ninth inning propelled the River Bandits over the Snappers on Wednesday by a 5-3 score. Santos Arias picked up the loss for Beloit, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits.

The Snaps got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning on a Ramon Santana RBI-single up the middle. Santana's single allowed Rene Leveret, who singled to lead off the inning, from second base. Leveret's run put Beloit up 1-0 after two.

Starter David Bromberg took it from there, pitching seven innings of three-hit, 10 strikeout baseball. Bromberg lowered his ERA to 4.76 while raising his MWL-best strikeout total to 149.

The game entered the ninth inning a 1-0 Snapper lead, but unfortunately it would change drastically from there.

Santos Arias allowed four runs off three River Bandit hits and Michael Tarsi allowed the last run on three hits to give Quad Cities a 5-1 lead.

Beloit then mounted a two-out comeback in the bottom half of the ninth inning, scoring two runs off one hit. Yangervis Solarte eventually grounded out to first to end the game and send the Snappers to a 5-3 loss.

Ben Revere went 2-for-3 with a run, two walks and three stolen bases for Beloit who fell to 27-25 in the second half.
