
Chiefs Announce Plans for Final Weekend Homestand

The Peoria Chiefs have announced their plans for the final weekend homestand at O'Brien Field for the 2008 season. The team will play two games against Clinton on August 18 and 19 and will face Cedar Rapids over the weekend, from Thursday, August 21 through Sunday the 24.
August 21-24
Peoria Chiefs vs. Cedar Rapids Kernels
Another spectacular fireworks show will take place following the game on Saturday, August 23. The show will begin after the 6:30 pm game and will be presented by CEFCU. The homestand at O'Brien Field will be capped off with a Taco Bell Family Day. Vouchers can be picked up at participating Taco Bell restaurants, and upon redeeming them at the box office, holders will receive four club box seats, $20 in concession vouchers, a disposable camera, and a picture frame all for just $48. After the conclusion of this homestand, the Chiefs will play only two more regularly-scheduled games at home this season when they face Clinton again on August 27 and 28.
Following a Midwest League off day on Wednesday, August 20, the Chiefs will begin their four-game series against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. After opening the series with a 7:00 pm match on Thursday, August 21, the teams will head into game two on Friday, August 22. Friday night will feature a giveaway from Prairie Home Alliance. The first 2,000 fans to O'Brien Field will receive a free Scoreboardman bobblehead.
August 18-19
Peoria Chiefs vs. Clinton Lumberkings
The Chiefs will move from two games at Clinton's Alliant Energy Field to play two more games against the Lumberkings at home. Monday, August 18 will be a Sprint Money Monday. All fans will receive half-priced admission for the 7:00 pm contest, and all fans over 18 years of age will have the chance to win $50,000 courtesy of Sprint. The Chiefs will finish their season series against Clinton with a 7:00 pm game on Tuesday, August 19.
