MEMPHIS - Rusty Ryal knocked his first home run and the Isotopes second grand slam of the season in their 7-5 victory over the Redbirds Thursday night at AutoZone Park.

A second-inning Brock Peterson solo home run and a fourth-inning RBI double put the Isotopes down by two early. Rusty Ryal took reliever Ramon Delgado deep with two outs and the bases loaded to give Albuquerque a 4-2 lead in the sixth. Peterson answered with his second solo shot of the game in the bottom of the frame to bring Memphis within one.

Alfredo Amezaga tacked on a run in the seventh with an RBI single to score Matt Wallach. Nick Buss added some much needed insurance in the ninth, driving in two on a double to right with the bases loaded to give the Topes a 7-3 lead. The Michigan native also tallied his team-leading seventh outfield assist in the win.

Every Isotope in the starting lineup, aside from starter Red Patterson, had a hit Thursday night with four players collecting multi-hit games. Dee Gordon went 2-for-5 and scored two runs in his first game back with Albuquerque since being optioned.

Red Patterson made a spot start, tossing four innings of two-run ball on four hits, striking out six, one below his season high. Geison Aguasviva threw two innings of one-run relief, improving to 3-2 on the season. Chris Withrow earned his third hold with a perfect seventh inning and Kelvin De La Cruz collected his second save, despite allowing two runs (one earned) in the ninth.

The finale of the four-game series is tomorrow. First pitch is at 6:05 MDT. Righty Blake Johnson toes the rubber against the Redbirds' Richard Castillo as the Topes look to take the series. All the action can be heard on 610 The Sports Animal with Josh Suchon on the call. The Isotopes return home for a four-game set with the Oklahoma City RedHawks this Saturday, June 1.
