Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City RedHawks defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers, 8-1, Thursday in front of a crowd of 4,541 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark to notch their 30th win of the season.

The one run scored by the Storm Chasers (24-28) marked the lowest run total by a RedHawks (30-23) opponent in 19 games. Oklahoma City also posted its highest run total in nine games to win a third-straight game.

Fernando Martinez and Carlos Perez led the RedHawks with two hits apiece. Perez and Che-Hsuan Lin batted in two runs each in the second game of an abbreviated series with Omaha. Wednesday's game between the team was postponed due to wet field conditions, and the now-three-game series concludes Friday.

RedHawks starting pitcher Asher Wojciechowski (2-2) allowed one run on three hits and struck out four in six innings for the win. Omaha starter Ryan Verdugo (2-3) allowed five runs on four hits and walked four in the loss.

Robbie Grossman, in his first game back since being optioned to Oklahoma City from Houston, scored the first run of the game for the RedHawks in the third inning. Jake Elmore's RBI single gave Oklahoma City a 1-0 edge.

Xavier Nady tied the game with a solo home run to center - his ninth of the season - in the fourth inning.

Oklahoma City then scored seven unanswered runs to close the game.

Martinez doubled in the fourth inning and later scored on a sacrifice bunt by Lin. Also in the inning, Marc Krauss grounded out to score Brandon Laird.

Laird's sacrifice fly to center scored Perez and a RBI single by Martinez put the RedHawks in front, 5-1, in the fifth inning.

Oklahoma City added three more runs in the eighth inning. Lin singled to score Krauss and a two-RBI double by Perez gave the RedHawks an 8-1 lead.

The RedHawks homestand against Omaha concludes with a 7:05 p.m. game Friday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. A post-game fireworks show will follow the conclusion of the Fireworks Friday game.
