Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, Calif. - The Giants Community Fund, in partnership with the Fresno Grizzlies Community Fund, will hold a Junior Giants Glove Drive at the Grizzlies' Saturday, June 1 game at Chukchansi Park. Fans are encouraged to donate a new or gently used glove to the Junior Giants baseball leagues. Fans that donate a glove will receive a free Buster Posey MVP lapel pin or Giants World Series lapel pin from the Giants Community Fund.

Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive and innovative baseball program for boys and girls ages 5-18 years old. The Junior Giants program serves 20,000 children in 85 leagues across California - including Fresno - and into Nevada and Oregon.

Over 9,000 kids in the Junior Giants program do not have a glove of their own. Each year, the Giants Community Fund teams up Bank of America to hold the Junior Giants Glove Drive to make sure that every child in the program gets his or her own glove.

On Saturday, May 11, the Giants Community Fund held their main glove drive at the Giants' game at AT&T Park. Fans donated online, at the ballpark and through a number of special partnerships to help raise over $68,000.
