ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express' favorite canine companion, Spike, is set to rappel 32 stories down the One American Center for the third annual "Over the Edge" fundraiser in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Friday, June 14. Spike will be featured as a "Red Carpet Rappeller" at the event located in downtown Austin.

Ballpark Rob, the Express' on-field host, also made the red carpet lineup and will rappel on Saturday, June 15. Following his rappel, Ballpark Rob will emcee the event as other fundraiser participants go "Over the Edge."

The fundraiser helps make the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions come true. Last year, "Over the Edge" helped grant the wishes of 216 children in the Central and South Texas area.

In 2013, Make-A-Wish is looking to expand its wish giving and Spike has jumped on the fundraising train. Fan can help Spike achieve his Make-A-Wish fundraising goal by donating online on his fundraising page www.austinovertheedge.com/spike/. His goal is to raise $1,500 by June 14.

Other local celebrities listed as "Red Carpet Rappellers" include BMX Pro Aaron Ross, Queen of Rainey Street Bridget Dunlap, Winner of 2008 "American Gladiators" Ally Davidson, Mayor Pro Tem Sheryl Cole, and New York Times Bestselling Author Andy Sernovitz.

The E-train has previously hosted the Make-A-Wish foundation as a Chasco Community Partner during Express games.
