
Skyforce Falls to Western Conference-Leading 66ers

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 16, 2011) - The Tulsa 66ers defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 121-98 at the Sioux Falls Arena on Wednesday night. Tulsa shot 56.1 percent (46-of-82) from the field and had eight players in double figures in a game that was rescheduled from Dec. 11 due to inclement weather.
Sioux Falls (6-25) held a one-point lead (29-28) after the opening quarter but Tulsa outscored Sioux Falls 37-20 in the second quarter to take a 65-49 halftime lead. Latavious Williams and Jerome Dyson came of the bench to score 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Tulsa (24-10) pushed the lead to as many as 22 points in the third quarter and Sioux Falls would get no closer than 18 points (103-85) in the final quarter to remain winless against the 66ers in three tries.
Robert Vaden scored 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting (3-of-4 3-pointers) to pace the 66ers. He was joined in double figures by Tweety Carter (15), Williams (15), Elijah Millsap (14), Dyson (12), Marcus Lewis (12), Byron Mullens (12) and NBA Development League All-Star Larry Owens (10).
NBA D-League All-Star Patrick Ewing, Jr. posted his sixth straight double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Sean Marshall scored 19 points while Maureece Rice added 18.
Both teams are off this weekend for the 2011 NBA D-League All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT on NBA TV. Sioux Falls visits Iowa on Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. CT. Tulsa hosts Erie on the same night at 7 p.m. CT.
