
Team Effort Leads 66ers to 121-98 Victory Over Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Feb. 16, 2011- The Tulsa 66ers (24-10) used a team effort to roll past the Sioux Falls Skyforce (6-25) on the road 121-98 Wednesday evening inside Sioux Falls Arena. Tulsa's Robert Vaden notched a game-high 20 points, center Byron Mullens posted 12 points and four rebounds and forward Marcus Lewis added 12 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and six steals to lead the 66ers.
Also scoring in double figures for Tulsa was Latavious Williams and Tweety Carter with 15 each, Elijah Millsap with 14, Jerome Dyson with 12 and Larry Owens with 10.
Offensively, the 66ers shot 46-82 (.561) from the floor, including 7-16 (.438) beyond the arc, and racked up a decisive 62-32 advantage in points in the paint.
The 66ers, who led by as many as 30 in the contest, forced 19 Skyforce turnovers, including 16 steals. Tulsa outrebounded Sioux Falls by a 49-34 clip while holding the Skyforce to 37-84 (.440) shooting on the night.
Leading the Skyforce was Sean Marshall with 19 points and Patrick Ewing Jr., with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The 66ers return to action after the All-Star break next Thursday, Feb. 24, by hosting the Erie BayHawks at 7 p.m. inside the Tulsa Convention Center.
