Johnson to Compete in 2011 NBA D-League All-Star Slam Dunk Contest

Bismarck, N.D. (Feb. 16, 2011) - The Dakota Wizards announced today that Wizards big man Chris Johnson will be one of four participants in the NBA Development League All-Star Slam Dunk Competition during NBA Development League Dream Factory Friday Night presented by Haier on February 18 at 10 p.m. CT at Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Johnson competed in the first ever NBA Development League Showcase Slam Dunk Competition in January at South Padre Island advancing to the finals. Dar Tucker (New Mexico Thunderbirds), the 2010 NBA D-League All-Star Slam Dunk winner, Marques Blakely (Iowa Energy) and Latavious Williams round out the competition.

The Slam Dunk Contest will be a two-round competition. The four players may complete two dunks in each round, with five judges each awarding between six and 10 points for every made dunk. The two dunkers with the highest composite score after Round 1 move on to Round 2, and the player with the highest composite score of the possible two dunks in Round 2 wins.

The Slam Dunk and Three-Point Shooting Contests and the second annual NBA D-League Haier Shooting Stars will stream live on NBA Futurecast at nba.com/dleague.
