Beloit Sky Carp News Release

BELOIT - A lethal combination of Gabe Bierman and some timely hitting led the Beloit Sky Carp to a 6-2 victory over visiting South Bend Tuesday night.

Bierman thrived on the chilly evening, pitching six innings and allowing just one run while striking out eight without walking a batter.

After Bierman allowed his only run in the top of the fifth, the Sky Carp responded with three runs of their own. Zach Zubia walked with the bases loaded to force in the tying run, and Kyler Castillo put the Sky Carp on top for good with a two-run single.

Jacob Berry later added a two-run single, while Zubia scored on a wild pitch to account for the final score. Kyle Crigger pitched a scoreless frame, while Chandler Jozwiak allowed a single run in the final two innings.

The two teams will play again Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
