Davenport, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits picked up their fourth-straight victory on Tuesday, as they shutout the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 2-0 in game one of a six-game series at Modern Woodmen Park.

In a game that featured 26 combined strikeouts, starters Mason Barnett and Russell Smith worked 5.0 and 4.0 scoreless innings respectively, with the Bandits' Barnett recording a career-high seven strikeouts in a no decision.

With the game still scoreless into the middle innings, Emilio Marquez gave the River Bandits 2.0 perfect innings of his own, striking out four, before Quad Cities took the lead in the bottom of the seventh, when Paxon Wallace scored from third on a Luis Amaya wild pitch.

After Brandon Johnson kept the Timber Rattlers off the board with a scoreless inning of his own, Juan Carlos Negret insured the Bandits lead with an RBI single, plating Cayden Wallace for a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the eighth.

With the Timber Rattlers down to their final three outs, Anderson Paulino negated a leadoff walk working Alex Hall into a game-ending 6-4-3 double play for his second save of the season.

Marquez (1-0) earned his first win of the season for Quad Cities, while Amaya (0-1) was tagged with his first loss, allowing two runs, both earned, in 1.1 innings.

Quad Cities will look to extend its win streak to five games on Wednesday, when they send Tyson Guerrero (0-1, 10.80) to the mound against Wisconsin's Joe Hernandez (0-1, 5.63). First pitch at Modern Woodmen Park is scheduled for 6:30pm.
