
Skeeters Close out Albuquerque Series with Victory

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Skeeters wrapped up their series against the Albuquerque Isotopes with a 5-1-win Tuesday night at Constellation Field.
After delivering a walk-off single in game two of Monday night's doubleheader, Michael Papierski led the Skeeters offense Tuesday, driving in three runs.
Jose Siri got the Skeeters on the board in the second with an RBI triple in the right-center field gap. It marked the second straight night Siri logged a run-scoring triple. Papierski followed with an RBI groundout to score Siri.
Papierski capped a three-run sixth inning with a two-run single. JJ Matijevic opened the scoring in the sixth with an RBI double to plate Marty Costes. Matijevic has collected six RBIs over his last five games.
Peter Solomon received the win, striking out eight batters and allowing just one run through six innings of work. Solomon moved to 6-0 on the season and has struck out 17 batters through his last two starts (11 IP). Enoli Paredes, Riley Ferrell and Ronel Blanco combined to throw three scoreless innings to finish out the game.
Isotopes starter Dereck Rodriguez took the loss. He surrendered four runs (three earned) on seven hits through 5 2/3 innings. Albuquerque scored its lone run of the night on an RBI single from Taylor Snyder in the sixth.
Following a Wednesday off-day, the Skeeters will open a six-game series at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday against the Oklahoma City Dodgers at Constellation Field.
