Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Indianapolis Indians erupted for six runs in the top of the fourth inning and cruised to an 11-4 win over the Louisville Bats Tuesday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Top prospect Hunter Greene struck out three over the first three innings and navigated around early trouble. Indianapolis then sent nine men to the plate in the bottom of the fourth with Jared Oliva singling home a run, John Nogowski doubling in two more, Tucupita Marcano following with a two-out RBI knock and Diego Castillo putting an exclamation mark on the frame with a two-run bomb to left-center.

Opposing starter Max Kranick went 6.0 innings with just one earned run to earn the win. Following his departure, the Tribe added three runs in the seventh to cruise to its victory.

Louisville plated a run in the fifth on a sac fly from Michael De Leon and teased a rally with a three-run seventh that featured an RBI single from Alejo Lopez and two-run liner into left from Narciso Crook. The effort ultimately came up short as Indy stifled the comeback with a solid defensive play up the middle that just beat out Bats baserunner Alfredo Rodriguez at first base to end the inning.

The two teams will continue their series Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. LHP Reiver Sanmartin (6-2, 3.80) toes the slab for the Bats against RHP Beau Sulser (6-5, 4.26).
