
SiriusXM to Air Texas Stars Broadcast

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that SiriusXM NHL Network Radio will carry the live broadcast of the Stars home opener on Sunday, October 14th against the Charlotte Checkers at Cedar Park Center.
SiriusXM NHL Network Radio will carry the Stars game on its main channel (Sirius 207, XM 92), as well as other AHL action, including seven other games during opening weekend. Additional broadcasts will be announced at a later date.
SiriusXM NHL Network Radio can be found on Sirius 207 and XM 92, providing more than 20 million subscribers in Canada and the United States with groundbreaking 24/7 hockey talk. This marks the eighth consecutive season that AHL action will air on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, including the annual AHL All-Star Game, the Calder Cup Finals and other regular-season and playoff games.
The American Hockey League, which begins its 77th season of play on Oct. 12, continues to serve as the top development league for the players, coaches, managers, executives and broadcasters of all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 88 percent of NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the 11th year in a row, more than 6 million fans attended AHL games across North America in 2011-12. Through the years, the AHL has been home to more than 100 future members of the Hockey Hall of Fame, including legends such as Johnny Bower, Andy Bathgate, Gerry Cheevers, Larry Robinson, Patrick Roy and Brett Hull.
The Stars continue their preseason schedule on Friday, October 5th as they host the San Antonio Rampage for a 7:00 pm face off at Cedar Park Center. Texas will travel to San Antonio on Saturday, October 6th for a 4:00 pm game at the Ice & Golf Center at Northwoods.
The Stars open the 2012-13 AHL season on Saturday, October 13th at San Antonio and their home opener comes on Sunday, October 14th as they host the Charlotte Checkers for a 7:00 pm faceoff at Cedar Park Center. 2012-13 season seat packages are on sale now.
