
Sioux Falls Sweeps Season Series against Westchester

Sioux Falls, SD (Mar. 21, 2015) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce finished off the season sweep of the Westchester Knicks with a 124-106 win in the team's fourth and final meeting this season. The win extends Sioux Falls' home winning streak to five games and keeps the team atop the Central Division with six games remaining.
Westchester (10-34) jumped out to an early 7-6 lead after Darnell Jackson made two free throws with 9:06 remaining in the first quarter. A Larry Drew II lay-up on the next Skyforce (25-19) possession would give the Skyforce the lead and spark a 13-0 Sioux Falls run. Sioux Falls would lead 31-20 at the completion of the first quarter. Shawn Jones led all players with eight first quarter points and Khem Birch led all players with eight first quarter rebounds.
Westchester would begin to cut into the Skyforce lead and trailed 45-40 with 6:55 remaining in the first half. This five point deficit would be the closest the Knicks would be the rest of the game as Sioux Falls responded with a 12-0 run to take a 57-40 lead with 5:07 remaining in the second quarter. The Skyforce lead would reach as high as 20 before taking a 67-52 lead into the half. Three Skyforce Players, Scotty Hopson (13 points), Shawn Jones (12 points) and Andre Dawkins (11 points) finished the half in double-figures. Doron Lamb (14 points) was the lone Knick in double-figures at the half.
Sioux Falls would carry a double-digit lead the entirety of the third quarter and led 94-80 at the completion of the quarter. Jones continued to dominate down low with 12 third quarter points. The Skyforce lead would be narrowed to 11 on a couple of occasions in the final quarter before Sioux Falls came away with a 126-106 win. With the win, the Skyforce remain atop the Central Division.
Sioux Falls was led by a career high 31 points from Shawn Jones. Jones finished the night 13-16 from the field and grabbed four rebounds. Larry Drew II (15 points, 11 assists) and Khem Birch (11 points, 16 rebounds) both finished with double-doubles, their 12th and 14th double-doubles of the season respectively. Scotty Hopson (23 points), Fuquan Edwin (14 points) and Andre Dawkins (14 points) rounded out the six Skyforce players to score in double-figures.
Westchester was led by Doron Lamb's 25 points on 8-16 shooting. Lamb finished a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. Ben Strong (10 points, 13 rebounds) was the lone Knick to finish with a double-double. Thanasis Antetokounmpo finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Durrell Summers (16 points), Trey Gilder (12 points), Nick Covington (11 points) and Darnell Jackson (10 points) also scored in double-figures for Westchester who only had eight active players.
Sioux Falls will now travel west to face the Reno Bighorns (16-28) next Wednesday, March 25th. Westchester will return home to host the Canton Charge (26-18) on Tuesday, March 24.
