
Blue's Season-High Pushes D-Fenders Past Stampede

Los Angeles (14-31) was led by Vander Blue, who finished with 40 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Jamaal Franklin also reached the 20-point plateau with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Will Sheehey (17 points), Roscoe Smith (13 points) and Eloy Vargas (11 points) all scored in double-figures for the D-Fenders.
Jerrelle Benimon paced the Stampede (8-36) with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Brandon Fields (20 points, nine assists) and Jared Cunningham (20 points) both scored 20 points for Idaho. Charles Hinkle (13 points) and Nick Wiggins (10 points) also reached double-figures for Idaho.
Idaho was on fire in the first quarter, outscoring the D-Fenders 36-26 behind 11 points from Fields. Blue started scoring early, tallying nine points in the first quarter for Los Angeles. The second quarter was a different story, with the D-Fenders outscoring the Stampede 30-23 behind another nine-point quarter from Blue. Los Angeles was behind 59-56 at the half, with Blue scoring a game-high 18 points, while Franklin had 12 for the D-Fenders.
Los Angeles pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Idaho 30-19, with Blue tallying 12 points as the D-Fenders shot 52.2% as a group. The fourth quarter was tight, with Los Angeles outscoring Idaho 36-32, behind 10 points from Blue, but the D-Fenders would hold on to win 122-110.
The D-Fenders shot .474 on the night, while Idaho finished at .473. Los Angeles finished with 54 rebounds, compared to 42 for Idaho. The D-Fenders tallied 23 second-chance points, compared to 16 for the Stampede.
The D-Fenders are home on March 25th to face the Oklahoma City Blue at 7:30pm PT.
