Kamloops, BC - The Everett Silvertips won their third straight game Tuesday night defeating the Kamloops Blazers, 5-3. Everett received goals from five different players including Curtis Kulchar, Rasmus Rissanen, Kellan Tochkin, Shane Harper and Byron Froese. Thomas Heemskerk picked up his 12th win of the season stopping 27 of 30 shots faced. Zack Dailey picked up the first star with an assist Tuesday night while Radko Gudas picked up an assist as well in his first game back from World Juniors. Everett now has a point in eight straight contests against Kamloops compiling a 5-0-1-2 record in that span. The Silvertips improve to 3-0 in 2010.
Kulchar picked up his first goal as an Everett Silvertip scoring the first goal of the game at 14:37. Kulchar scored with a slap shot from the right circle past Kurtis Mucha to give Everett a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Everett controlled play in the second period scoring four times on 17 shots. Rissanen collected his fourth goal of the season on the power play by pinching in from the point to collect a rebound 52 seconds into the period. Tochkin scored his 13th of the year at 2:44 putting home a rebound from a Gudas shot. Harper scored his 24th of the season blasting home a one-timer from Dailey on a two on one to move the score to 4-0. Froese rounded out the scoring for Everett deflecting in a Chris de la Lande shot on the power play at 13:17.
Kamloops started a comeback in the third period scoring three times in the frame, but Everett was able to hold off the Blazers to seal a 5-3 victory.
This brings the 'Tips record to 22-16-2-1 with 47 points in 41 games played. Everett heads to Kelowna Wednesday night to take on the Rockets at 7:05. Friday brings a 7:35 start against the Seattle Thunderbirds in Kent before heading back home to Comcast Arena next Sunday.
