Giants Acquire Pick, Tucker To P.A.

January 6, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver Giants General Manager Scott Bonner today announced that the team has traded goaltender Jamie Tucker to the Prince Alberta Raiders. In return, the Giants acquire a 2nd round pick in the 2011 Bantam Draft.

After making the trade, Bonner said "Jamie had asked for a change of scenery in December, so we began looking for a move that would benefit us, as well as make him happy. Jamie continued to play well for us, and that made the trade easier to complete." The Giants now have two 2nd round picks in the 2011 draft and Bonner added "The draft pick is very important to us, because we have already traded our first pick that year to acquire David Musil, this will help us to continue to bring good prospects into our organization."

The Giants also announced today that goaltender Derek Tendler has been recalled from the Estivan Bruins of the SJHL and will join the team in Red Deer for tonight's game against the Rebels. Tendler has a record of 6-9-1-0 with the Bruins, he also has 2.99 goals against average and a.907 save percentage. Tendler was acquired last month by the Giants in a trade with the Regina Pats.
